The Buffalo Project
All unique - All different

What about looking carefully… for real ?

What could be more undifferentiated than a buffalos’ herd ? Don't they seem like a huge uniform brown crowd?

But if you look closer, each of them is unique. Even among the most common birds, those that we no longer even see : not a sparrow similar to another ...

Over the years, my interest for details made explode in my eyes the uniqueness of every living being and the wonderful diversity of the world.

This evidence contrasted so much with the major orientations of our human societies with diktats, its groups, its norms, its unsubtle shortcuts, its mass  'solutions' that ultimately suit so few, its reject for any difference...

I had no choice but to publish this project, and I chose the buffalo, one of the animals that we imagine the least different from the rest of the herd.

This young one with the child look and the golden fleece, this brave female with the twisted horn ready to defend her little one whatever the cost, this scarred old pirate, this wise group leader covered with wrinkles .... Young or old, beautiful or damaged, silly - even a little bit mad - or wise, or smart, they are all moving .... and all unique.

And that's just the outside! Inside, thoughts, organs, veins... The visible and the invisible, all these tiny details are singulars as well.

Even if we sometimes share a part of who we are with others, if we can sometimes share our battles, enjoy fraternity… none is exactly like another...

each of us bears specific signs and traces: of our genetic heritage, of the time passing through, of our way of life, of our internal and external scars, and of our own history.

All different and all magnificent ... Because life and nature are thus, uniquely made up of diversity, let us rejoice in this nurturing and stimulating multitude.
